Thank you and farewell !

It’s only been a fortnight since we reached Goolwa to end our Murray River Marathon but it was so intense for five weeks that it feels like a distant memory. I paddled around 2,200km in total, which is over 733,000 paddle strokes!

Congratulations to Chris from Yarrawonga who won my beloved kayak - enjoy!

Thanks again to all of the Lions that helped by donating to our cause, welcoming us to their clubs and feeding us! Your hospitality and company made the trip really special and we’re proud to announce that our grand fundraising total to date is $10,667 and the monies are still rolling in.

A special thanks to the following Lions Clubs:

Also many thanks to the caravan parks that helped by donating sites to us. If you’re visiting the Murray River, spread the love and pay it forward by looking at our blog, booking with the caravan park that put us up at your holiday destination and telling them we sent you!

Our online fundraising page is still open and will be well into 2014, so if you’re struggling to think of Christmas presents for everyone, buy them the gift of giving with a donation in their name to the Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation! http://mycause.com.au/paddleforlife2013

Final thoughts

Is this really the end?
Or just the start of another adventure…?!

In March 2014 I’ll be heading to Vietnam to live with the local people in the mountain area around Sappa and I’m shipping over a big box full of stationery, books, sporting equipment and other learning tools to give to the local school.

In May 2014 my wife, Susan, and I will be heading to China for a 15 day sightseeing tour and then a 3 days on th
e Yangtze river in a junk.

BUT...

The next big challenge I’m really setting my sights on is climbing up to Mt Everest base camp, so if you would like to join me give me a call.

Until then - watch this space!

All the best,

Tony
